What does Google see on your most important pages?

Checking a single page only shows half the truth: the expensive mistakes – duplicate titles across all category pages, leftover noindex tags from the relaunch, sitemap entries pointing at 404s, a canonical mix of www and non-www – only surface when you compare several pages. This crawl pulls your sitemap and checks up to ten pages from it. For shops, home, category and product pages are deliberately included, because their failure patterns are completely different.

The check pulls your sitemap and tests up to 10 pages from it. Without a sitemap it uses the home page links.

Type of website

With “shop” the selection makes sure home, category and product pages end up in the sample – the three page types with the most distinct failure patterns.

Only needed if your URLs follow no common pattern. Pages you enter are always checked.

The check fetches robots.txt, the sitemap and up to 10 pages of your site (about 13 requests, with its own user agent). Results are cached for up to 1 hour; page content is not stored permanently. The result is a sample, not a full crawl – and a technical snapshot without warranty.
